Aurangzeb had an intellectual mind and was very quick in understanding. He mastered the Quran, the hadith and moreover he spoke and wrote Arabic and Persian like a scholar. The copy of two richly written manuscripts Mecca and Medina are still preserved in Nizamudden Aoliya. Aurangzeb was a prolific writer of letters and commented on petitions manually.
